Writing Picture Books for Children

  • Woodinville Public Library

There’s nothing more magical than a picture book. Do you have an idea for a one? Perhaps you’ve already put pen to paper. Or maybe you just enjoy reading picture books to your children, grandchildren, or students and would love to know more about how to create one. In this workshop, writer and teacher Jolie Stekly will share: misconceptions about the picture book form; information you should know if you want to write one; and the important aspects successful picture books have in common.  Of course this will require sharing some wonderful books along the way. Join Jolie and begin to conjure up a bit of your own magic.
